What is The Buteyko Trilogy?

"‘…Normalisation of breathing immediately triggers a healing process..."
Buteyko Trilogy Volume 1 Chapter 17: The First Handbook

What is The Buteyko Trilogy?

The Buteyko trilogy is a biographical account which documents Professor KP Buteyko's theories, teachings and thoughts (1952-1997). The trilogy gives a detailed history of the Buteyko breathing method as taught by Professor Buteyko and his colleagues and outlines his belief that the method could be used to treat
150 Diseases of Deep Breathing.

In 1988 Sergey Altukhov was commissioned by Professor Buteyko to write the truth about his method. Originally published in Russian in 1993,
"Doctor Buteyko's Discovery" trilogy: Volume 1 is now available, for the first time, in English (published 2 May 2009).

The Trilogy gives a unique insight into the life and work of Professor Buteyko whose method has become increasingly popular in recent years.
Recent research into Buteyko's method include:
University of Calgary, Asthma Research Results, Canada 2008
"Buteyko group had significantly improved asthma control from 40% to 79% and improved quality of life, Corticosteroid daily dose dropped significantly only in the Buteyko group".
The British Guideline on the Management of Asthma now grants permission for British health professionals to recommend Buteyko.

There are many unanswered questions about the man,
Professor K.P. Buteyko and The Buteyko Method.
The Buteyko Trilogy goes a long way to answering these questions.
